In 1 Kings, chapters 17-19 the bible gives us the story of the prophet Elijah. There are multiple lessons we can glean from his life and ministry, but the one we can focus on here is what Elijah did to position himself (and the nation of Israel) for a miracle.

There will probably be a sermon on this in the future, so I won't get too wordy in this devotional.  What the Lord is impressing on me is how Elijah faced the "Woke" or "Correct" crowd of his day.  Elijah faced them with CONFIDENCE.  And how could he have such confidence?  1. He knew his life was not corrupted with the sin of the age.  We can dwell on that a little bit... Then 2. Elijah rebuilt the altar for sacrifice.

Two very simple but profound things: Reject the sin that is prevalent around us, and create an altar where I can give myself as a living sacrifice, an altar where I can worship God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (3 in one).

When I do these things I'm setting myself up for God's presence, power, and provision. If that doesn't light your fire your wood's wet! (pun very much intended) Blessings ya'll.
